Aircooled VW and Porsche vehicles typically used hot air from heat exchangers mounted on either side of the vehicle. When converting to EV, these modules can be used to provide a hot air source into the original ducting. This means all of the original control levers in the car will still work as intended, directing hot air to the screen, feet and cabin.
Each module contains one of our 1100W PTC bricks. The outlet is 60mm diameter compatible with VW/Porsche ducting and many other vehicles. All that is needed is a control for the fan and heat level.
Typically these units can be mounted in the footwell where the heat exchanger feed pipes used to be. If mounting behind carpet, make sure to allow enough air to enter the fan.
Our 1100W PTC Brick Heater is the only heater available that has on board solid state switching. This means you can control the heat levels at any fan speed without have to resort to bulky external contactors. Staging the heat allows better power management which allows greater mileage range.
The modular design allows the modules to be mounted side by side or stacked. Two units will provide ample heat (2200W) for most vehicles.
The compact size allow two units side by side to fit in the space of a standard water heater matrix making it perfect for EV conversions. This can be achieved by fabricating a suitable metal carrier and mounting the bricks to it.
